Barber
On a country road in Southern Ontario, as a little lad on the way home from school, he heard the audible voice of God calling him to be His Voice. Today, as the long shadows of earthly life are falling upon him, he is ready to climb up the step of the tenth decade of his life, with Mrs. Elizabeth Barber, his dear wife of 65 years.
In the intervening years, he has been the key-note speaker in many major Christian conventions in North America and around the world. He has even proclaimed the Lord Jesus Christ in Israel, over the airwaves of Israel’s National radio.
In 1944 he started his pastoral ministry in Elmira, Ontario, Canada; and in 1947 followed God’s call to pastor a Church in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. In 1953 he was called to pastor Calvary Temple, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Half a century later, when he retired, under his anointed leadership Calvary Temple had become one of the leading Churches in North America. Today, he is still going strong. For 50 years his television program “Faith to Live By”, has been reaching thousands of people in North America and around the world with the message of the Living Christ of God. His sermon books have been published in several languages.
Scarcely will you find a Church in Western Canada without people who have been led to the Lord Jesus Christ through Pastor Barber’s ministry. Any serious student of the sermons of the ancient Church Fathers, easily comes to understand that Dr. H.H. Barber belongs to that group of preachers.
